ST HELIERS PETANQUE CLUB

In May 2011, a Petanque division of the club was formed, with a dedicated Petanque piste.

The division is very active and it is an important part of the Bowling Club.  The Petanque division has a small club house known as 'Le Chateau', which houses the equipment and is the social gathering place for coffee etc.  The Petanque members have full access to the Bowling Club which is fully licensed.

The division is flourishing with a steady increase in members.  Games are played every Wednesday at 10am and Friday & Sunday at 2pm.  It is a very social and friendly environment.  In addition, there are social events with a BBQ and games.  Christmas and Bastille Day are celebrated with a lunch or dinner.

New Members:
New members are very welcome and can join us for a day or two to decide whether or not Petanque is suited to them.  Petanque boules are available for new members and , in addition, we have members who are very keen to share tips, which will help improve your game.

SOCIAL/CORPORATE EVENTS

We can cater for up to 54 players, or 18 teams of 3, all year round.  We provide boules and tuition and you are assured of a fun time. There is plenty of seating with a large table under a canopy for drinks/food in between games which are tailored to your requirements.  A BBQ can be supplied at no additional cost and although we do not provide caterers, many groups bring finger food or arrange for food to be delivered.   We are part of the St.Heliers Bowling Club which is well stocked with all beverages at excellent prices - unfortunately the Liquor Licence does not allow BYO.

Wednesday Play:
All year round - 9.45am for 10.00am start.

Friday Play:
All year round – 1.45pm for 2pm start.

Sunday Play:
All year round – 1.45pm for 2pm start.

Monthly BBQs are held (commencing 12.30pm) prior to playing at 2pm

Pétanque Competition

There will be two games each playing day i.e., Wednesday/Friday & Sunday of drawn pairs with each player’s points accumulating November to March. It is the responsibility of each player to enter their scores on the sheet in the Chateau at the end of play, as per the previous competition

The monthly winner will be announced at the monthly BBQs, with overall winner/winners announced at the BBQ on 29th March

Special Events, Fundraising Corporate Days, and other information will be posted on the Chateau noticeboard.
