Eastern Zone Winter Coaching

The Curtain is down on the 2024 Junior 0-5 years Eastern Zone Winter Coaching. What a successful 7 weeks and the following numbers could tell you something.    Each week, an  average of over 40 players attended coaching.  Players are from 7 clubs, Blockhouse Bay, Carlton, Glendowie, Kohimarama, Mt Wellington, Remuera, St Heliers. We added a number of teams into the Zone competitions.

On the 10th and 11th August in lovely weather, we had 45 Players in teams across both the Men’s and Women’s competitions:

Canoe (Men Fours) – 6  teams, 24 players
Campi (Women  Triples ) – 7  teams  21 players.

For ABCA on the 17th August, played as a shortened competition in miserable weather, we had 32 players playing in mixed teams.
ABCA -Mixed Fours – 8  teams, 32 players.

Winter coaching could not take place without the expertise of the coaches and helpers.Big thank you to Coaches: Barclay Lee, Catherine Bien, Amy Chueng, Esther Eu, Helen Murray, Mark Posa, and Assistants: Rudi Barreto, John Brown,  Sue Curran, Dean Edge, Roger Johnson, Richard Kempthorne.  Also thanks to St Heliers Bowling Club for the use of the green and to John Brown for getting the green ready every week and, of course, Margaret Dickinson and Derrick Hodgson for always making sure we had enough milk.
